Muriel Celebrates her 93rd Birthday

 

 

 

 

 

Muriel Schroeter enjoyed a very happy 93rd birthday party on 21st April.

 

Sharing in the celebrations are son Neill and daughter Jilly.

 



 

 

 

The Harpist Entertains

 

 

 

Pauline Carter beguiles the residents of Hyne Town House with  her performance of traditional ballads and renditions of more conteporary music at a concert held at the home on Thursday 7th March

.

Pauline makes her performances even more entertaining by explaining the background to the ballads and the stories which brought about their place in our musical memory.



 

 

 

A Feast of Entertainment

 

 

In response to popular demand we have secured the services of "The Musical Gentlemen" for the remainder of 2012.

 

These two entertainers have proved to be extremely popular with residents and their families alike and have produced some highly professional concerts in our Garden Room on many occasions.

Lord Mayor of Dartmouth Visits  Hyne Town House

 

 



Paul Allen, Lord Mayor of Dartmouth paid a Christmas visit to Hyne Town House accompanied by his Sergeant at Arms to present gifts of sweets and chocolates to the residents.

 

The Mayor, resplendent in his chain of office estimated to be worth over £180,000, enjoyed tea and freshly baked biscuits in the Home's dining room.

Terry McKivragan RI Deceased

 

 

 

The family of former resident Terry McKivragan RI generously present Jean White, Manager, with one of Terry's paintings as a thank you for the wonderful care given to Terry during his stay at Hyne Town House.

 

The painting will be displayed in the dining room alongside another work by the well regarded artist and former resident, Ross Hickling.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

From Monday 15th October the residents of Hyne Town House will be able to enjoy the company of Daisey the highly trained Pets As Therapy dog

 

Pets As Therapy is a national charity founded in 1983. It is unique in that it provides therapeutic visits to residential care homes. Since its beginning over 20,000 PAT dogs have been registered into the scheme. Currently there are over 4,500 active PAT visiting dogs at work in the UK.

 

Our residents will be given the opportunity to interact, cuddle and talk to with Daisey, under closely supervised conditions, to enjoy the companionship and well documented therapeutic benefits of petting an animal and receiving unconditional love in return.
